Instructor(s): Sarah Holljes
Have you ever wondered what the meaning is behind a painting? If what you are looking at is more than meets the eye? This course will be a combination of art history and discussion as we explore symbolism in art. Artists often use symbolism to convey emotion, story and absolute truths. My goal for this course is to teach you how to discern the symbolism present in many works of art so that you might incorporate it into your own work as well as create deeper connections to the artists whose works line the walls of galleries and museums.
