This class is designed for those who have never used a computer. During the three sessions* there will be a focus on the practical use of a home computer for leisure pursuits such as writing family letters, researching trustworthy information on the Internet and e-mailing notes and attachments. We will also share tips for preventing physical strain on your neck, back and arms while spending time at the computer. Class size is small to allow for individualized attention; 4 students per instructor, per session **Students placed on a waiting list for any of these four classes will be combined. As openings become available for any of the classes, seats will be filled from the combined waiting list.

Now that you have your pictures off of your camera and onto your computer, what do you do? Learn how to edit and improve your digital photographs easily and then learn how to use Picasa to create collages, web albums, movies, and more. Class size is limited.

Face the world on Facebook. Learn how to set up your account and profile. Upload a photo to your profile. Become aware of safety and privacy controls. Learn to search for friends and send friend requests. Post on your page and write on a friend's wall. Please have an email address set up prior to the first class. If you need help with setting up this free service, please contact the office. No materials are needed except paper and pen for note taking.

Have you been using one of the Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook or PowerPoint and have a burning question? Submit the questions by January 24 and we will get the answers. In addition, short cuts and helpful hints will be discussed. The student should have a basic knowledge of the software.

Do you have computer questions? Any questions? This course will work to address your questions about hardware, software and security. It will help you figure out how to do things you are not sure how to do. It will help you understand what is happening when things "pop up" on your screen and answer your "How do I know…? Questions. Did you get a new laptop or computer for the Holidays? Not sure what to do with your old computer that has all of your personal data? Bring your old computers, printers, and screens to have them disposed of SAFELY!

LLI now follows the Chesterfield County School winter weather closings.
If schools are cancelled due to inclement weather, LLI is also closed.
If the schools have a "delayed opening," LLI will open at 10 am.
