This course is designed for students who have studied most verb conjugations and completed Beginning French and Intermediate French or for students with a high level of proficiency in the French language. A didactic curriculum will be followed but there will also be detours into French history, literature, and arts as well as French associated cultures. All instructions and exercises are written in French, and students will be encouraged to speak and listen during class!

Basic Arabic Script: Reading and Writing

No previous Arabic language training is needed for success in this course. This is the easiest Arabic script course ever! The methods used in this classroom study will quickly prepare you to read Arabic script within eight weeks (or eight hours of study). The instructor will introduce the Arabic letters (four letters each class session). For those who may not want to learn the alphabet, the instructor will teach conversational Arabic words, phrases, and simple sentences (sometimes called "get by Arabic.")

Students in this advanced class will converse in German with the native-speaking instructor and fellow students. Students should have a minimum of two year's coursework in German and have knowledge of conjugating verbs, articles and nouns and be able to read German text. This course emphasizes immersion in the language and uses the Berlitz System. Students will learn to TALK and THINK in German and become increasingly fluent and accurate through interaction.

This course is for students with a solid base knowledge of Spanish and for students who have completed the Beginning Spanish Grammar series. Students will study more verb conjugations, and readings will emphasize Spanish culture, history and literature. A textbook will not be necessary.

This course is a continuation of Parts one and two and builds on skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish with an emphasis on mastering high-frequency grammar through exercises and reading comprehension. Students will continue to use the text: Basic Spanish by Dorothy Richmond (2nd Edition). It is recommended that new students be familiar with basic Spanish as three units of the text have already been completed. The book can optionally be purchased through LLI during Open Registration only, and payment is due at registration. Purchasing a Spanish/English dictionary is also recommended.

Conversational French Practice

Bonjour! Come practice the French you learned in high school, college, or LLI in a casual, non-threatening environment. You will not be required to stand in front of the class and speak French. The course will be conducted in French, covering a different topic each week. Vocabulary will be provided, if needed, as you speak to the person next to you. Nous nous amusons! We enjoy ourselves!
