The Spring 2012 Ballroom Dance offering is Cha Cha. Of the six major couples dances it is probably the newest. Born out of the Mambo, Cha Cha came into its own in the early 1950's and keeps increasing in popularity each decade. It is characterized by each 4/4 measure consisting of 3 quarter notes followed by
2 eighth notes with a weight change occurring on each note. Once this basic step pattern is mastered this musical rhythm can be contra-timed in 10 different fun ways.
If AD121022 overfills, a second class, AD121024 will be opened. Beginners will be placed in the new class that will take place on the same dates from 9:30‐10:30.
